Gainesville Theatre Alliance is Gearing Up for a Stellar Season

GAINESVILLE, GA – Of course, Gainesville Theatre Alliance is near and dear to my heart. My two wonderfully artistic children are products of exemplary GTA training and are both gainfully employed in the entertainment industry, which is proof you can follow your dreams!

You will want to get your season tickets asap as these shows are sure to sell out!!

Their new season is full steam ahead and here is the lineup:

THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE

Much like author C.S. Lewis, Gainesville Theatre Alliance’s Theatre for Young Audiences division, WonderQuest, invites family audiences to experience the surprise and adventure of a classic Narnia tale.

When: 4:30 p.m. Oct. 7, 14; 2:30 p.m. Oct. 8, 14

Where: Brenau University Pearce Auditorium, 202 Boulevard NE,Gainesville

CINDERELLA

With music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II — who are also known for Broadway’s “South Pacific” and “The Sound of Music” — “Cinderella” is promised to delight audiences with a surprisingly contemporary take on a classic fairy tale.

When: Nov. 10-18

Where: Brenau University Hosch Theatre, 429 Academy St. NE, Gainesville

THE CRUCIBLE

Set amidst the Puritan witchcraft purge in Salem, Massachusetts, “The Crucible” is billed to be gripping, historical and a “timely parable of our contemporary society.”

When: Feb. 16-24

Where: Brenau University Hosch Theatre, 429 Academy St. NE, Gainesville

THE 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE

Packed with wit and humor, this fast-paced musical comedy following a group of “perspicacious,” “jocular” and “effervescent” spellers is promised to be an unforgettable experience.

When: April 12-20

Where: UNG-Gainesville Ed Cabell Theatre, 2900 Landrum Education Drive, Oakwood
