DINWOODY, GA—Stage Door Theatre is excited to present the irresistible one-woman comedy Bad Dates, February 7-22, starring Atlanta favorite Marcie Millard and directed by Amy Duffy.
Restaurant manager and shoe connoisseur Haley Walker is finally ready to re-enter the dating world. From the privacy of her bedroom, she relates a series of hilarious tales while preparing for, and recovering from, one dreadful date after another. Theresa Rebeck’s sweet and sharp comedy will be the hottest date night in town!
Bad Dates serves as a homecoming for Atlanta Actress Marcie Millard, who plays the central character. Marcie’s career is well known to Atlanta theatre audiences. With over 60 credits to her name and 2 Suzi Bass awards, she is a mainstay and powerhouse in the community. Marcie returns to Stage Door Theatre having performed on its stage many times and even served on the Board of Directors. Producing Artistic Director Justin Ball shared, “We are so thrilled to have Marcie back at Stage Door! I first saw Marcie in a production of ‘POTUS’ at Synchronicity Theatre and was completely enamoured with her performance. I feel so grateful and excited to watch Marcie bring this character to life on our stage!”
Director Amy Duffy, Co-Founder of Destination Theatre, hopes that audiences will follow in the footsteps of the central character, Haley, as she winds us through the tales of her newly re-entered love life. “This play is about a woman’s journey back on to the dating scene. Over the course of the story, we watch her make harsh judgements, practice flexibility, challenge herself, and reconsider previously held beliefs. We hope that audiences will be inspired to challenge themselves too”.
Bad Dates runs from February 7-22 at Stage Door Theatre as part of its 52nd season in Dunwoody.. Tickets are on sale now at https://ci.ovationtix.com/36385/production/1245922
