WOODSTOCK, Ga. — Woodstock Arts Theatre will present Seared, a contemporary play about ambition, creativity and the complexities of culinary culture in New York City. The show runs March 13 through March 29, 2026, with multiple performance times scheduled at the Woodstock Arts Theatre.

The show follows Harry, a brilliant and temperamental chef whose restaurant begins to thrive after critical praise for his signature scallops, but only if he’s willing to make them again. With the addition of a savvy restaurant consultant and a waiter with ambitions of his own, the play turns up the heat on questions about art, commerce and personal vision.

“There are tons of pieces of media that discuss the eternal battles between art and commerce, dreams and reality and moral principle and logistical execution,” Joseph Arrigo, Seared Director said. “It’s a fresh take on a classic dilemma, with an added element of organized chaos.  Placing an entire theatrical play in the midst of a working kitchen, with all the smells and sounds that come with it, is truly a unique experience.”

Audience members will be immersed in an intimate kitchen-set environment, where the sights, sounds and even aromas of restaurant life are brought to the stage. Performances are a 2-hour runtime with a 15 minute intermission and are appropriate for audiences 13 and older, as the play contains adult language and mild themes.

“One of my passions is bringing theatre to audiences in ways that haven’t been seen before,” Joseph Arrigo, Seared Director said. “I love when there are added elements of sound, smell, and immersion.  Seared is the perfect opportunity to do something new and different.  I am attracted to projects where I can have the audience in mind and consider what it means for them to have a total experience.”

The run includes evening and matinee showings on weekends, providing a range of opportunities for patrons to experience the production. Tickets are available online and at the box office, with general admission prices typically ranging from $21–$25. Woodstock Arts Theatre is at 8534 Main St., Woodstock, GA.
