“One Of The Most Engrossing And Entertaining Plays That Miller Has Ever Written” – New York Times

ATLANTA– Theatrical Outfit (TO) is excited to continue its 49thSeason by once again partnering with The Breman to co-produce Arthur Miller’s classic – THE PRICE (April 8 – May 3, 2026). Reuniting the award-winning team behind the “Outstanding Production of Play” billings Remember This: The Lesson of Jan Karski and The Lehman Trilogy, comes a bold new take on a masterpiece from one of the most significant figures in the American theater. A bold vision for a bold city … this is the HEART OF ATLANTA.

From the team behind Remember This and The Lehman Trilogy, comes a brand-new take on Arthur Miller’s classic – THE PRICE – a riveting story about the struggle to make peace with the past and create hope for the future. Set in the attic of a crumbling Brownstone in New York City, two brothers battle for their birthright in the wake of their father’s passing. The cast of The Lehman Trilogy – Andrew Benator, Brian Kurlander, and Eric Mendenhall – return for Miller’s most personal and riveting play exploring the true price of the choices we make or fail to make in life.
“If you made a list of the most significant figures in the American theater, Miller would certainly stand near the very top,” says Matt Torney, Artistic Director. “His extraordinary body of work has influenced generations of writers, directors, and actors; and his powerful conscience and incisive dramatic voice probe the very foundations of American identity. Born close to the turn of the twentieth century into an upper middle class Jewish family in New York, Miller’s world was upended when his father lost everything in the Great Depression. They lost their summer home on Long Island, let go of their chauffeur, and moved to a humble corner of Brooklyn. As a teenager he delivered bread and was forced to work in his father’s furniture showroom. He saw firsthand the struggles of the working class and the desperate hustle of salesmen like his Uncle Manny (the real-life inspiration for Death of a Salesman) who all fought for their own vision of the American Dream.”

Leading THE PRICE are “The Lehman Brothers” together again – Andrew Benator as Walter Franz, Brian Kurlander as Gregory Solomon, and Eric Mendenhall as Victor Franz. They are joined by Cara Mantella as Esther Franz. Under the direction of Matt Torney with Dramaturgy by Addae Moon, the design team includes: Scenic Design by Isabel & Moriah Curley-Clay,Costume Design by April Andrew Carswell, Lighting Design by Rachael N. Blackwell, Sound Design by Rashad Pierre, Properties Design by Dave Smith, and Stage Management by R. Lamar Williams.
Torney continues: “These experiences echo throughout all his plays, but especially in his most autobiographical play: The Price. The play unfolds in the attic of a brownstone slated for demolition, where two brothers meet to finally settle their father’s estate. Surrounded by decades of family relics and furniture stuffed to the rafters, they are forced to confront the debts they owe one another and the true cost of the choices they’ve made. The play also introduces one of Miller’s most indelible characters: the elderly Russian Jewish immigrant – Gregory Solomon. Solomon’s life echoes the journey of the immigrant experience; and as he sparkles with charisma, his decades of failure and rebirth endow him with a unique wisdom.”
