LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — The Aurora Theatre Board of Directors remains deeply committed to the long-term success of the organization and its role in helping shape Lawrenceville as a thriving arts community.
The partnership between Aurora Theatre and the City was established in good faith, with a shared vision of creating a vibrant cultural destination for the region. Since that time, the broader theatre landscape, like many industries, has experienced significant and lasting changes following COVID-19. These shifts have impacted operating models for theatres across the country in ways that could not have been fully anticipated when the original agreement was made.
With several years of experience navigating this evolving environment, the Board is actively engaged in thoughtful, good-faith conversations with the City to ensure a path forward that supports Aurora Theatre’s long-term sustainability and continued ability to serve as a cornerstone of the Lawrenceville Arts Center.
We are optimistic about what lies ahead and remain aligned in our goal of strengthening Aurora Theatre’s impact and Lawrenceville’s position as a leading arts destination in the region.
