What a whirlwind first month it’s been for Speakeysie! I’ve gone from talking about an idea with friends that involved a blog of theater reviews and promoting theatres in a non-critical way, to beginning said blog, attending 7 shows, 2 musical concert performances, an adult spelling bee, and a film festival; giving away tickets to theater events in the metro Atlanta area, hosting two LIVE social media events, and writing 25 articles. It’s been a whirlwind of a start-up and we’re just getting started!
We’ve hit some awesome one-month milestones: our blog visitors have surpassed the 1000 mark; we have a reach on Facebook of over 10,000 and over 100 followers. The Force is with us, as we continue to move forward and cover and promote entertainment in both live theatre and film. We will soon branch out and include music in our repertoire of blog offerings as well.
We’ve quietly changed our surname from “North Georgia theatre review and promotion” to “entertainment review and promotion” as our coverage is national and our reach is international. We have readers from all over the United States as well as Ireland, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, Germany, Japan, Australia, the UK, Italy, and Czechia. BUT — enough of tooting our own horn.
We owe every success to our creator and our followers. Thanks to EVERYONE who has taken time to read our stories, interviews, and reviews and like us on social media. We are committed to continuing to bring you interesting articles as well as sharing the latest in entertainment in the Atlanta area and beyond.
In the immediate future, you’ll see us at Lips Down on Dixie, Aurora Theatre, Atlanta Lyric Theatre, Holly Theatre, Play on Players Children’s Theatre, Starry Knight Community Players, Gainesville Theater Alliance, North Hall Hollow Horse Players, and many more!! We’ll be attending the one-night-only Tuna and the Rock Cats event in Athens on June 19th. We’re giving away tickets to Lips Down on Dixie, Aurora Theatre, Gainesville Theatre Alliance, and more to come.
We’ll also be providing in-depth coverage of Dragoncon, the Junior Theater Festival, the Las Cruces International Film Festival, and are headed to NYC to follow Jonathan Marciniak as he works with iTheatrics and Music Theatre International to be a part of a choreography DVD session.
We’ve got even more in store and are working hard to be “Your KEY to Entertainment”! Please keep supporting us with your readership, and consider making a donation to Speakeysie as we work on obtaining our non-profit status so we can continue to serve the entertainment community.
Peace be with you and thanks for your readership!!
