Lawrenceville, GA — Aurora Theatre today announced Jono Davis will step down from his leadership role to pursue new artistic endeavors and Christina Sims Hamilton has been named Interim Executive Director, effective immediately.
The transition comes as Aurora Theatre celebrates a successful 30th Anniversary Season, marked by strong audience engagement and critical acclaim.
Co-Founder and Producing Artistic Director Ann-Carol Pence is excited for this new opportunity. “I have known Christina for 10 years. When she offered to join Aurora’s team earlier this season, I was thrilled. We met a decade ago through Atlanta Regional Commission’s Regional Leadership Institute and that changed my life. She has become a wonderful sounding board, an authentic community connector and she is a true data analyst. Anthony Rodriguez and I fully support this new chapter in Aurora’s future.”

Christina Sims Hamilton currently leads sales strategy and design for Aurora Theatre. An ardent supporter of the organization, she brings a strong track record as a business and non-profit leader. As the Founder and Owner of ChristinaCares Consulting, LLC, she has helped small businesses and nonprofits build infrastructure and operational capacity to scale. Previously, she served as Director of the City of Atlanta’s Housing & Community Development office, managing nine HUD programs and budgets exceeding $330 million. She also led the Justice40 Accelerator, a national effort supporting 151 frontline organizations in accessing federal funding for climate and environmental justice. She holds a Master of Public Administration from the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University.
